Willamette Graystone is Hiring a Branch Manager Near Bend, OR

Williamette-Graystone, part of The QUIKRETE® Companies, the leading packaged cement and concrete products producer, has immediate openings for highly motivated Branch Manager for our Bend, OR facility.

The Branch Manager has the responsibility for the management of an efficient and effective maintenance management program. This includes personnel training, safety programs, cost control, and preventive maintenance resulting in optimum availability and efficiency of plant equipment. The Branch Manager reports to the Plant Manager. Reporting to this position are all other maintenance personnel. This person must work closely with production management personnel in order to meet production and plant cost objectives. Teamwork with other company supervisors, peers, and subordinates is a must.

The Branch Manager is responsible for:

  • Administers and/or implements a sound preventive maintenance program with appropriate documentation and record keeping.
  • Establishes and maintains an accident free work environment. Participates in monthly plant safety meetings and conducts monthly safety inspections as directed. Ensures that plant machinery and equipment is in compliance with established company, OSHA, and EPA policies and requirements.
  • Maintains the plant and equipment at the appropriate level to provide for consistent, efficient, and continual operation.
  • Continuously evaluates and controls the cost of repair and maintenance expenditures.
  • Assists in the selection and installation of replacement or new equipment
  • Ensures that housekeeping in the maintenance shop, other maintenance work areas, and areas worked in are in compliance with company policy.
  • Troubleshoot, repair or replace defective equipment and parts. Reassemble equipment including machinery, conveyors, packing lines, product handling equipment, etc.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition does not deteriorate.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoist, saws drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components. Work on and repair all types of electrical components such as contacts, starters, relays, overloads, input/output boards, etc.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking drawings, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Construct and fabricate parts to specifications using limited resources.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Work from ladders, man baskets, and roofs to install, maintain or repair equipment.
  • Dismantle machinery or devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Assist with Troubleshooting and repairs of plant machinery.

Job Requirements

  • Managing preventive maintenance and parts demand of the whole Facility.
  • Electrical diagnostics and knowledge of how to read electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical control systems to include PLCs, 120/240/480 3ph systems, motors and controllers.
  • Experience with safety programs and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Mechanical and physical dynamics as they relate to machine functions.
  • Hydraulic diagnostics and knowledge of how they function.
  • Ability to be an independent thinker and find solutions to problems and then implement those solutions.
  • Must be team oriented and have good people skills.
  • Experience in a Maintenance Technician/ Electricians position.
  • Highly motivated person that is able to handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast changing environment.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours as dictated by the job requirements.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and swift decision making skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and functions of machinery
  • Must have good work ethic and be dependable.

This is an industrial environment and requires attention to SAFETY, physical dexterity and intermittently required to use hands, arms, legs, feet, body, and trunk to carry, lift/lower, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
