Will County Executive Office is Hiring a HR/Payroll Specialist Near Joliet, IL

DUTIES AND

REQUIREMENTS: Under general supervision the position performs confidential tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the County. Assist in the processing and reviewing of the bi-weekly payrolls. Provides prompt courteous service to customers. Must interpret and understand both County policy and federal tax regulations and State labor law guidelines in order to process payroll in compliance with the law. Data entry of HR/Payroll records for all employees, including new hire paperwork, status changes, direct deposit, W-4 information, and payroll deductions. Coordinate, organize and comply with Records Retention rules and processes; prepare new hire packets and related materials and communications. This position is the primary back-up in the absence of the Payroll Administrator. Reports directly to Payroll Manager and/or designee.

Associates Degree in accounting or related field required, Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred), or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Experience performing complex and responsible administrative duties. Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects. Knowledge of computers and electronic data processing, including Microsoft Office Software, such as word, excel, and outlook. Familiar with collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is preferred. Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license with proof of automobile insurance as required by law. Government/Municipality experience preferred. Must successfully complete the Excel In-Basket Skills Assessment.

SALARY RANGE: (EXEMPT)$45,000 -$50,000 D.O.Q.
