RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate and prepare projects for printing, including electronic file conversion, PDF’s and other digital files from a variety of applications, and document scanning and enhancement from start to delivery
• Download jobs from email or print queue; size, reproduce, and sort as requested
• Edit existing documents as required
• Perform finishing and binding of jobs as requested
• Scan hard copy originals to store on document management system, network drive, or to send electronically as required
• Use secure file transfer process to send large electronic files to external recipients
• Copy data to/from digital media
• Deliver urgent production documents back to requestors as needed
• Establish and maintain quality controls to ensure work accuracy
• Keep logs of downtime and repairs of all copiers and printers; perform routine maintenance on copier and printer equipment as needed.
• Order and coordinate with outside vendor to manage copier and printer supply inventory
• Place and track equipment service calls

• Ability to creatively solve technical and/or equipment issues
• Proficiency in operating computer equipment and possesses general knowledge of the Microsoft Office application suite and file structures. Graphics software knowledge a plus.
• Aptitude for learning new technology and applications
• Familiarity with handling digital files
• Able to create postscript files
• Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials
• Flexibility to work overtime on an as-needed basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 3 years’ copy operator experience in a large production environment. Previous experience in a law firm strongly preferred.

• Position operates in a professional office environment which is usually quiet to moderate
• Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers, and scanners
• Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read information.
