JOB PURPOSE

Wilbraham & Monson Academy is seeking a Part-Time Overnight Security Guard for our campus located in Wilbraham, MA. This position offers a flexible schedule with one (1) weekend/month as well as covering shifts as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patrolling and routine monitoring
• Safeguard against vandalism, theft, fire and injury
• Identify and respond to suspicious activity
• Act as a first responder, immediately responding to all levels of emergency situations
• Maintain security presence throughout campus throughout overnight shift
• Secure all buildings and set alarms
• Responding to all emergency codes and follow crisis procedures whenever necessary
• Enforces all parking regulations and traffic control
• Document reports of daily activities, investigations and irregularities

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3 years security experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts
• Must have ability to calmly and professionally manage students and visitors at all time, especially in stressful situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical demands include dexterity for office machines including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Common physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and sitting or standing for extended periods.

Additional Competencies

• Must be able to read, speak and write proficiently in English in order to effectively communicate on a daily basis with staff, students and visitors
• Must be in good physical condition in order to quickly move up and down stairs, or run in order to respond to urgent situations.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be capable of taking swift and efficient action when responding to emergency or other urgent situations
• Must be alert and have excellent observation skills
