Job Summary: To assist the Pharmacist in the completion of the hospital's medication management process. Pharmacy Technician shall comply with all applicable hospital policies, procedures, and standards for the provision of medication in the hospital's medication management process. Technician shall work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Job Qualifications:A. Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of Pharmacy Technician program (certificate program) preferred.B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to assist the pharmacist in provision of medication for the medication management process. Effective oral and written communication skills.C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Certified Pharmacy technician certified by PTCB and licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, preferred.D. Experience:1. Prior work experience: One year experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.2. Technical Training: Current BLS certification required. IV Certification as required by TSBP. CPI required.E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
