Wilbarger General Hospital, Vernon, TX has an opening for a full time Patient Access Representative in our Business Office Department.
Job Summary: Responsible for admitting and discharging patients in the registration are or the emergency room registration area. Processing documents for insurance coverage and for transferring patients. Performs cost estimates to determine patient's financial responsibility. Answers multi-line telephone using departmental procedures in routing and transferring calls.
Job Qualifications:
A. Education: Associate degree, LVN, or equivalent experience preferred.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Competency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of general clerical duties.
C. Licenses, Registry or Certification: BLS required. CPI required.
D. Experience:
1. Prior work experience: One year in business office environment with knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
2. Technical Training: Office equipment and computer training desirable.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Intermittent sitting, prolonged periods of standing and walking.
