ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
- Monitor field testing
- Perform general field inspection of construction work
- Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
- Prepare IDR's and DCR's
- Monitor materials sampling and testing schedules
- Interface with CM Quality Coordinator
- Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
- Monitoring the progress of contractor's work
- Maintaining Quantity Book
- Upkeep of Daily Logs and Contractor Logs
- Conducting weekly progress meetings
- Monitoring Field Staff
- Training of Field Staff
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- 5 years' experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
- GPS knowledge a plus
- GIS knowledge a plus
- A sense of humor
