Wieland is hiring a Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for sit-down forklift and/or other material handling equipment as part of the distribution process within a fast-paced warehouse setting. The ideal candidate should have proven forklift driving experience, require little supervision, demonstrate initiative, and have extreme attention to detail. This candidate must also be able to work within a team environment, be organized and flexible, able to work on multiple tasks. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay:  $18 per hour

Schedule: 7-3:30

Responsibilities

Forklift Operator Responsibilities:

• Safely maneuver motorized material handling equipment
• Select product safely with a high degree of accuracy
• Maintains equipment by keeping it clean and safe, reporting service requests as needed
• Efficiently moves and loads product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
• Participate daily with general housekeeping of warehouse and your area

Forklift Operator Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to forklift operations.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

• Sit for extended periods of time.
• Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, or manipulate items.
• Stand for extended periods, walk and reach with hands or arms.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• Stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and walk while handling cases of product.
• Have vision abilities to include proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
