wiegel is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Wood Dale, IL
Wiegel Tool Works is a premier metal stamping manufacturer located in Wood Dale Illinois. Established in 1941 our company occupies a 93,000 square foot modern air-conditioned building recently expanded in 2011. WTW specializes in complete turnkey packages including engineering, prototypes, tool construction, and wire/EDM.
Key Objectives
1) Supervise floor inspectors and quality technician staff.
2) Manage the daily activities of the quality department to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
3) Manage first piece/last piece inspection procedures, control plans, capability studies, PPAPs, GR&R, and FEMAs.
4) Respond to and/or create CARs and 8Ds.
5) Manage RMA, MRs and nonconformance utilizing the Unipoint system.
6) Lead corrective action meetings, determine root cause, and implement countermeasures.
7) Work closely with other departments to ensure compliance to standards.
8) Create non-conformance and other reporting utilizing the UniPoint system.
9) Manage alerts, deviations, and waivers with customers.
10) Performs tasks in plant and office environments. Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites. Moves and handles light to moderately heavy weight items.
11) Communicates quality policy. Enforces quality rules. Performs other tasks as requested.
Minimum Requirements
1) High school education supplemented by advanced technical training in quality control.
2) Minimum of 3 years similar experience as a Quality Manager in metal stamping environment.
3) Ability to give and receive effective direction to/from others ensuring objectives are met or exceeded.
4) Read/understand quality standards, statistical analysis, work instructions, and safety regulations.
5) Mathematical aptitude to read/understand piece prints, measuring equipment, material checks, machinery, etc.
6) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
