The Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for running the Manufacturing Engineering and the Advanced Manufacturing Processes laboratories. These labs support students and faculty who are passionate about manufacturing. This position helps foster a positive work environment by providing training on equipment use and by defining and enforcing safety protocols appropriate for typical machine shops. There is a large number of classes and research projects at both the graduate and undergraduate levels that the Lab Coordinator serves. Additionally, this role ensures that equipment/tools and supplies are readily available to the classes and the students, coordinates equipment maintenance, and manages tool inventory.
