POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of your job is to ensure that the medically-related emotional and social needs of the resident are met/maintained on an individual basis. You will assist in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operation of the community’s Social Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures. Will ensure that an on-going social service program is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, psychosocial well-being of each resident. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Social Services Policies and Procedures.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a human services field, including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology, if required by state/federal regulations or
  • Possession of a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Social Work within the state in which you work, if required by state/federal regulations or
  • Possess minimum qualifications to work in Social Services as required by the state/federal regulation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
  • Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
  • Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
Experience:
  • Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals, if required by federal and/or state regulations.
