Required Education and Experience

Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse or Physical Therapy license

Certified in Wound Care & Ostomy,

2 years of experience with Wound Care

Knowledge of nursing care for geriatric population specifically related to acute and chronic illness

The Director of Wound Care supervises the care given to residents in activities of daily living by CNA's and private duty staff including the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Will assess and document skin integrity of all new admissions within 72 hours and ensure all treatments are documented on a weekly basis. The Director of Wound Care will administer treatments as ordered by the physician in compliance with IDPH Minimum Standards and Whitehall's policies. Will assist in review of procedures, policies and job descriptions of wound care staff. Audits and maintains proper records including wound assessments, reports, documentation, orders and treatment records.
