JOB DESCRIPTION:

When joining White Drive Motors & Steering as Engineering Services Managers, they manage the effectiveness of all engineering, operational, and staffing activities. Their duties include directing the smooth integration of engineering projects, authoring reports, approving expenditures, assisting in project specifications, facilitating document management policies, creating a lean process to reduce waste, and tracking organizational targets. Engineering Services Managers will guide the White staff in developing programs and work with the Human Resource Department to facilitate employee hiring and promotion. This manager will implement a purchasing strategy and hold authority in signing off design-related engineering documents. The mission of the Engineering Manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate engineering activities. Provide technical support related to products to internal and external customers. To assist with continuous product improvement and value-added engineering activities supporting corporate goals and objectives. Continuously strive to provide professional and personal development of engineering services personnel.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Improve the efficiency of the company's use of CAD/CAM and documentation systems.

Promote a prominent level of awareness to comply with OSHA, corporate safety, and manufacturing standards.

Participate in ISO certification efforts and document internal processes and procedures.

Incorporate new methods and processes to improve operations.

Develop and analyze KPI's to implement S2/S3 events and best practices.

Use Kaizen events to measure the facility's performance and identify other opportunities.

Achieve exceptional productivity and quality performance by deploying data analytics and localizing operational KPI metrics.

Manage staff of sustaining engineers, training, and service and document.

Required to develop plans for engineering services that outline both short-term and long-term objectives.

Direct value adds engineering activities related to products within the engineering services group.

Ensure full participation in any team assignment related to the product or group.

Guarantee the maintenance of precise and detailed project files.

Develop, manage, and provide justifications for departmental budget.

Assign appropriate resources to product projects and activities related to product improvement.

Conduct one-to-one meetings and employee assessments of subordinates.

Participate in internal and external audits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering and or 15 years of experience in the engineering field.

A minimum of five or more years of experience in engineering management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High integrity, honesty, and commitment to the company and co-workers.

Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Above average analytic, abstract, and numerical reasoning abilities.

Ability to problem-solve and use root cause analysis systems.

A non-defensive yet persuasive personality with practical people skills, allowing the individual to relate effectively to a wide range of people.

The desire and ability to create and maintain a professional work environment.

Capable of planning and managing multiple projects and assigning resources to complete tasks.

An advanced technical background, knowledge, and use of problem-solving techniques are required.

Practical leadership skills are necessary.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of hydraulic motors' manufacture, function, and performance attributes.

Working knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Office, CAD system, and office etiquette and procedures.
