Description:

Summary:

The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in dental procedures, post-op instructions, sterilization, preparation, inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, and for proper infection control of all areas involving dental care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Directs and maintains patient flow, including patient admission and dismissal to ensure efficient delivery of services.
  • Prepares all necessary trays and instruments for dental procedures.
  • Exposes and develops dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department directive and protocol.
  • Assist dentist during dental procedure in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Give written and oral post-op instructions and oral hygiene education to patients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure that appropriate infection control guidelines are followed when cleaning/sterilizing instruments and preparing operatory.
  • Assist with the maintenance and lubrication of equipment.
  • Ensures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with dental department directive, WMCHC policy as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Handle patient information with utmost respect and confidentiality.
  • Stays in compliance with all HIPAA regulations

Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a dental office setting.
  • Working knowledge and experience in all phases of dental procedures.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Dental Assistant certification.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
