Purpose of Job:
The primary purpose of your job position is to assure that the transportation needs of the Community are met in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Director of Property & Facilities.
Introduction:
Your job description has been designed to outline the responsibilities of your specific job title. Every effort has been made to include all items. It is understood that since you work in the service industry that NOT all situations can be listed. We encourage you to provide the best customer services possible while accomplishing the tasks of your job. The omission of specific duties or responsibilities does not mean that you should not complete the task. Your job description outlines the general duties as well as establishes the method for performing other duties as assigned by a Vice President or President.

Leadership:
Models the mission statement so that it is clearly understood and emulated by all levels of staff.
Represents the organization in a professional manner.
Fosters cooperation within the department as well as between departments.
Demonstrates appropriate supervisory/leadership skills.
Demonstrates problem solving skills and can resolve issues with resident, families and staff in a professional manner.
Resolves conflict with minimal disruption to department operations.
Demonstrates ability to creatively resolve departmental obstacles.
Implements organizational change with minimal disruption to departmental operations.
Demonstrates sound judgment when making decisions.
Provides a role model for customer service in the community.
Motivates staff by creating an atmosphere conducive to learning and achieving excellence.
Acts as a role model and resource for all team members to work safely and effectively.
Delegates responsibilities to accomplish all tasks in the most cost efficient and effective manner.
Completes annual compliance training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the code of conduct in the performance of their duties.
Abides by White Horse Village’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties.
Administrative Functions:
Develops, implements and maintains an annual review of policies and procedures for the day-to-day operations of the department.
Provides input to policies that are community wide.
Keeps department appearance in presentable manner at all times.
Completes all appropriate reports and paperwork as required.
Ensures department is in regulatory compliance.
Administrative Functions (cont’d.:
Ensure adherence to infection control policies.
Volunteers to serve on committees and/or participates when designated
Human Resources:
Assures all department staff receives annual Tb testing.
Provides effective staffing schedules and assignments for the department.
Assures that staff attends all mandatory in-services.
Conducts performance appraisals at 90 days for new staff and at least annually thereafter.
Hires, orients and trains staff to perform appropriate duties.
Effectively applies work rules to all staff and corrects behavior and actions when necessary.
Provides a departmental environment where all safety practices are maintained.
Follows new hire procedures to secure high quality staff i.e., obtain references, complete paperwork and submit required documents as mandated by regulatory bodies.
Communications:
Maintains positive communications within the department.
Facilitates positive communications inter-departmentally.
Attends and actively participates in Directors meetings.
Produces written communication that is clear and concise.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and White Horse Village business issues.
Budget:
Develops an accurate annual budget for department.
Monitors spending to ensure conformance with budget projections.
Orders supplies and maintains adequate inventory for proper operation of the department.
Allocates resources to implement departmental activities, as appropriate.
Orders and maintains all capital equipment.
Completes budget variance reports, as appropriate.
Education:
Attends seminars and in-services to maintain and increase professional skills.
Provides on-going learning opportunities for staff.
Ensures department is compliant with mandatory in-services.
Department Specific:
Must be knowledgeable of serviced areas as required for driving.
Driving duties will be assigned according to the calendar of activities for the month. These duties may vary and may involve working days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Must maintain maintenance records on vehicles.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be responsible for carrying out all assigned driving duties on schedule and in a timely fashion.
Must carry out minor maintenance duties in the community.
Must be responsible for keeping the vehicles clean and tidy.
Assure that current insurance certificates are stored in all community vehicles.
Ensure that a preventative maintenance program is maintained on all vehicles.
Ensures that the interior and exterior of all vehicles are properly maintained.
Coordinates transportation routes and schedules.
Assists residents entering and leaving vehicles.
Assists residents with packages.
Transports residents to and from specified locations.
Coordinates transportation for all departments, as needed, and when possible.
Observes all township, county and state driving laws.
Interviews, selects, hires and trains new employees.
Counsels employees as needed.
Prepares payroll.
Maintain company vehicles, according to community policy and procedures.
Assure that all required state/local inspections of community vehicles are completed in a timely manner.
Perform daily/weekly inspections of community vehicles.
Assure that any and all necessary (approved) repairs to company vehicles are performed in a timely manner.
Deal diplomatically and in a caring manner with residents, family members, responsible parties, and personnel to develop an open, cordial, homelike environment.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
