White Horse Village is Hiring a Sr. Director Health Care Services Near Newtown, PA

Administrative Functions:

Assist team with developing, implementing and maintaining an annual review of policies and procedures for the day-to-day operations of the department.

Provides input to policies that are community-wide.

Keeps department appearance in presentable manner at all times.

Completes all appropriate reports and paperwork as required.

Work with direct reports to ensure department is in regulatory compliance.

Ensure adherence to infection control policies.

Volunteers to serve on committees and/or participates when designated.

Human Resources:

Monitor staffing and ensure directors are recruiting, hiring to meet current needs. 

Assist the directors to ensure team members complete all mandatory in-services.

Assist directors with performance appraisals at 90 days for new staff and at least annually thereafter.

Assists directors with hiring, orientating and training team members to perform appropriate duties.

Effectively applies work rules to all team members and corrects behavior and actions when necessary

Assist team in providing a departmental environment where all safety practices are maintained.

Follows new hire procedures to secure high quality team f i.e., obtain references, complete paperwork and submit required documents as mandated by regulatory bodies. 

Communications:

Maintains positive communications within the department.

Facilitates positive communications inter-departmentally.

Produces written communication that is clear and concise.

Maintain confidentiality of resident and White Horse Village business issues.

Budget:

Develops an accurate annual budget for areas of oversight.

Provides for the capital needs of the community through input to the capital budget.

Monitors spending to ensure conformance with budget projections.

Assures adequate inventory of supplies for proper operation of the areas of oversight.

Allocates appropriate resources to departments to assure efficient and effective implementation of departmental activities. 

Obtains bids for capital expenditures per facility policy.

Assures directors order and maintain all capital equipment.

Reviews budget variance reports and assures directors complete variance reports, as appropriate.

Education:

Attends seminars and in-services to maintain licensure and increase professional skills.

Provides on-going learning opportunities for team members.

Ensures compliance with mandatory in-services.

Department Specific:

Health Care Administrative Functions:

Plans, implements and evaluates health care systems and operations that promote quality resident care and regulatory compliance. 

Establishes standards for departmental team(s). 

Establishes and maintains agreements, licenses and certifications for resident care services.

Evaluates services provided by facility departmental teams and consultants. Identifies areas where improvement is needed and meets with respective department director to address issues. 

Reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the Healthcare Center departments.

Monitors staffing levels to assure appropriate staffing for departmental activity and budget projections.

Assists in establishing strategic initiatives for the health care center.

Mentors department directors and teams regarding the provision of care and service that is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and health care philosophy.

Performs regular rounds to observe and discuss with residents needs and the provision of care and services.

Identifies “best practice” models and works with the personal care and nursing home administrators regarding implementation in the respective department. 

Meets with residents and/or family members regarding resident needs and concerns.

Serves as a resident advocate.

Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences as appropriate.

Monitors staff adherence to resident rights.

Is knowledgeable regarding state and federal long term care and personal care regulations.

Assist respective department director prepare for the nursing facility and personal care annual surveys and participates in the survey process.

Assist the respective department directors develop and implement appropriate action plans for identified deficiencies. 

Quality Improvement Functions

Continuously assesses and improves the outcomes of care and services provided by the health care center departments. Collects data regarding departmental activities and analyzes data to improve care and services.

Reviews monthly analysis of resident incidents in all levels of care in the health care center. 

Reviews consultant reports i.e. infection control, pharmacy, medical records consultant to identify facility issues and trends and work with the respective department director to develop correction action plans.

Meets regularly with the medical director to identify areas for improvement.

Conducts periodic meetings with health care directors. 

Serves as a role model by treating team members, residents, and family members with respect and compassion.

Participates in the Health Services Advisory Committees.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active NHA license in PA
  • 2 year's previous experience as NHA
