Job Summary: To assist students who are identified with dyslexia and/or characteristics of dyslexia by implementing the district dyslexia intervention. Should possess the ability to work with various aged students, adapt to different levels and needs of the students, build a strong rapport with parents and colleagues, and have the desire to work in a student-centered environment. They should also have good organization and communication skills. Essential Duties:Be trained in district dyslexia intervention programImplement the district dyslexia intervention programWork with small groups of students that have dyslexia and/or characteristics of dyslexiaPrepare lesson plans for various groups of studentsConduct appropriate assessments (under the guidance of the dyslexia coordinator)Maintain all necessary student records required by the dyslexia programWork closely with the dyslexia coordinator and other interventionists through observations and coaching to ensure the fidelity of the dyslexia intervention programAttend weekly PLC meetings with the dyslexia intervention teamMaintain student confidentialityEffectively observes assigned work hours.Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.Follows the daily schedule as prescribed.Work with middle and high school-aged studentsParticipates in staff development opportunities provided by the districtDemonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignments..Other duties may be assigned Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
