Wheaton Bible Church is looking for an engaging Christ-follower who loves missions to lead in the design and implementation of the Local Outreach ministries of Wheaton Bible Church (WBC) and Iglesia del Pueblo (IdP) congregations, and to mobilize and equip the church in their next steps of local outreach, mission, building bridges of love and compassion, and sharing the gospel in word and deed.
Responsibilities
  • Manage existing Local Impact programs and partners: CareFest, Refugee Resettlement; Administer Justice; and Safe Families.
  • Maintain and develop ongoing relationships with local organizations and partner ministries to increase effectiveness and opportunities for missional engagement for our WBC/IDP congregations
  • Help lead WBC in developing a heart of service and compassion for our neighbors. Search out ministry opportunities where the people of WBC can make a long-term impact socially, economically, and spiritually, and mobilize the congregations towards those opportunities
  • Collaborate across all ministry teams to effectively mobilize and equip each generation within the church towards growing missional engagement.
  • Intentionally develop and maintain relationships with individuals and groups (such as small groups and Adult Communities including our ethnic communities) from our WBC and IdP congregations in order to increase engagement in Local Outreach. Regularly speak in the various venues of our congregation in order to elevate the awareness of Local Outreach ministries and invite participation.
  • Design and implement new Local Missions ministry teams of lay leaders as need and resources arise.
  • Collaborate with the Sending and Outreach team to connect Local Mission's opportunities to Global Mission's opportunities, in missionary preparation, multi-ethnic ministry opportunities, and the execution of our yearly MissionsFest missions conference.
  • Support Puente del Pueblo (PdP) programs through the mobilization and equipping of local outreach volunteers and teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Possess 5 years of local or global missions experience in a church as staff or lay leader.
  • Exhibits spiritual giftedness in areas of leadership, administration, shepherding, and encouragement. (I Timothy 3 and Titus 1).
  • A good knowledge of missional principals, including cross cultural communications, church planting, evangelism, and community issues.
  • Experience supervising staff preferred.
  • Able to lead multiple teams of lay leaders.
  • Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and engaging presentation skills. Ability to speak and teach regularly in various venues of our congregation.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to deal with individuals within a wide range of situations.
  • Proven organizational skills and strengths in goal setting, management, reporting and networking.
  • Acceptance and agreement with WBC Statement of Doctrine of Faith and WBC Statement of Christian Lifestyle.
  • Willing, along with immediate family, to become a regular attender and member of WBC.
