ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Media Resources Coordinator, you’ll support the efforts of PBS NewsHour’s Media Resources division, which is comprised of business development, licensing and content syndication and media assets. You’ll perform a variety of administrative and logistical tasks related to licensing requests, content licensing and syndication partnerships and management of NewsHour’s digital asset management system.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
You will work closely with the NewsHour business development & licensing team to understand the departments workflows, systems and goals. Concurrently, you’ll shadow media assets-focused team members to get to know the lifecycle of media in our organization – from camera to archive to re-use and licensing. Working closely with all the members of the media resources division, you’ll be an instrumental player in developing and implementing administrative procedures that support the entire operation.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You consistently contribute your skills and knowledge to efficiently support the workflows and coordination of the media resources division. You effectively support your collaborators in business development & licensing to ensure ongoing growth in that sector. You successfully collaborate with your media assets-related team members and colleagues across editorial, production and operation platforms to help maintain our complex system of active and archived media flow. Your maturing interests in non-fiction content licensing and in tv news production have contributed to continued growth in your position.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Understanding of digital asset management systems.
  • Understanding of NewsHour’s mission, ethics, and role in journalism and education.
  • Preferred: Degree in related field; experience with product marketing and branding; awareness of footage production tools.
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proof of full dosage of a COVID-19 vaccination is required for all positions that will be working onsite, or may reasonably or occasionally be called to work onsite.
