Main Responsibilities
· Pre-sets for next job utilizing pre-set checklist.
· Assists and follow direction from machine operator in performing printing operation.
· Assists with the set up and operate machine in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining expected standards of production quality and waste.
· Reads and initials Production Order Form (POF) to verify knowledge of order specifications at beginning of each order.
· Preps and loads paper rolls for continuous operation of machine.
· Prepares and monitors ink system if printing.
· Properly labels partial rolls to be returned.
· Verifies print quality throughout production run.
· Assists with completion of all daily production and quality reports, with Supervisor initialing and approving all hourly checks.
· References equipment manuals, SOP’s and Management resources.
· Relieves Operator for breaks and assumes his/her responsibilities.
· Performs daily maintenance, lubrication and upkeep of machine as directed by Operator.
· Notifies Operator and/or Supervisor when maintenance problems arise.
· Follows instructions and requests from Operator, Supervision and Management.
· Follows all company policies and procedures.
· Is dependable and reports to work on time.
· Communicates well with all team members.
· Keeps machine and area clean, organized and clutter-free.
· Completes Safety Orientation, Departmental Safety Training and OSHA Standards Training.
· Complies with Departmental and job safety practices, including wearing protective equipment and monitoring placement of machine guards and interlocks.
· Completes any other job duties requested by Management.
Qualification Requirements
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Ability to read and comprehend manuals, instructions and correspondence.
· Ability to effectively communicate information and answer questions from crew, Supervision and Management.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
· Ability to apply commonsense and reason to understand instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and to deal with troubleshooting issues.
· Must pass the mechanical aptitude test.
Physical Demands
· Required to stand for a minimum of ten (10) hours.
· Regularly walk, use hands, bend, kneel, lean, turn, twist, lift, lower, grip, push and pull.
· Regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
· Regularly use hand tools to make adjustments.
Work Environment
· Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
· Required to wear hearing and eye protection as well as steel toed shoes.
