Westwood Eye Center is Hiring an Optician Near Los Angeles, CA

Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customers' needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders and maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions and purchases
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of retail math for calculating prices, discounts, and insurance coverage
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing procedures for insurance claims processing
- Proficiency in managing medical records using electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding their unique eyewear needs
- Retail management skills to effectively manage inventory, sales, and customer service
- Solid understanding of anatomy related to the eye and vision correction
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dispensing area
- Excellent retail sales skills to provide exceptional customer service and drive sales

Pay: $21.46 - $25.85 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
