Job Description Summary

The Bartender sets the tone for Westwood Country Club’s mission of “Wowing” our member and their guests with amazing moments. This role’s primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, and prepare and serve food and beverage items to members in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner in accordance with our quality standards. The Bartender must maintain supplies and follow established cleanliness and sanitation guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.

Job Description

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• The bar is located outside in a new, open-air facility with adjacent tennis courts and a pool.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for an entire shift.

Expected Hours of Work

• Must be flexible to work variable days of the week including weekends and holidays.
• Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights).
• Hours are from 3:00 PM till 11:00 PM. Hours and work will vary during the winter season.

Education and Experience

• Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.
• Experience with making classic cocktails and the freedom to create cocktails.
• Knowledgeable with beer, spirits, and wine.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

• Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes, and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, and utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards.
• Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of the shift.
• Clean and reset bartop and tables immediately after guests depart.
• Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.
• Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
• Required to close and lock the bar at the end of the night.
