Weston United Community Renewal Inc. is Hiring a Clinical Supervisor Near New York, NY

Job Title: Clinical Supervisor

Program: Weston TLC

Reports to: Program Director

Educational Requirements: Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work or related social service field. A minimum of three years’ experience working with adults who have a severe and persistent mental illness with or without a history of substance abuse and a minimum of one year of supervisory experience. NYS Licensed Masters Social work (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) preferred.

Qualifications and Experience: Clinical Supervisor: Must have experience with supervising and managing clinical staff. Must have a working knowledge of how to conduct intakes/assessments. Demonstrate an ability to effect communicate with housing providers and contracting agencies. A working knowledge of the Awards and CARES system is preferred.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Tue-Sat 10am-6pm with flexibility

Scope of Position:

In conjunction with the Program Coordinator, the Clinical Supervisor will directly supervise all clinical staff. That staff includes theLPN, MSW, MICA specialist, Recreation Coordinator and Peer Specialist. Conduct intake/assessment as needed and ensure that consumers are provided with services for transitioning to permanent housing. Work closely with DHS to ensure that our mandated placement target meets the required goal. Will work closely with the Program Director to ensure that the Agency’s mission is upheld by staff. Attending DHS meetings, trainings, and staff meetings as scheduled. Provide administrative coverage when program Director is off site. Help organize, plan and facilitate the groups. Run at least one clinical group a week.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Coordinates a team of case managers delivering rehabilitative and restorative services to assigned caseloads of residents.
  • Ensures that consumers are living in safe and clean environments.
  • Participate in agency management meetings.
  • Functions as a qualified mental health staff and as such writes the admission notes in the Case Record.
  • Assures that new residents are oriented to the residence.
  • Lead in assessing the needs and strengths of residents and helps the assigned case manager work with residents to set goals and objectives.
  • Ensures delivery of services and chart documentation to meet the standards set by the agency and other reviewing, licensing, certifying, monitoring and funding entities.
  • Ensures that at least 10 progress notes are written by clinical staff each week,that reflect clinical interventions and interactions between the clients and clinical staff.
  • Ensures that clients are linked to all necessary ancillary services including psychiatric, medical and dental treatment, vocational and educational resources, and legal and financial entitlements.
  • Ensures that regular communication with collateral providers occurs and is documented.
  • Provides crisis intervention to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
  • Ensure that group scheduling and facilitator schedules are sent out to staff and organized.
  • Evaluate and update group curriculums, as needed. Help to train facilitators on group structure, function and curriculums.
  • Provides individual, weekly, supervision to designated staff. Offer support in program training, job functions, and related clinical interventions. Provide documentation on minutes of supervision form and submit copies to supervisor.
  • Prepares performance evaluations and time and attendance records for assigned supervisees.
  • Represents the agency at conferences and meetings of referral sources, treatment providers, and professional and community groups.
