Weston & Sampson Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with 6 years of experience in Foxborough, MA and any of our other New England office locations. This is a great opportunity to work on a team of 8 engineers where you will be the hands-on specialist in Plumbing and Fire Protection in a multi-disciplinary professional engineering environment.

What you'll do:

• Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the detailed phases of the engineering work in a specific project or projects
• Assisting the Project Manager & Utility Manager in ensuring that client needs are being met either through office, and field activities
• Providing consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance
• Designing fire detection equipment, alarm systems, and fire extinguishing devices and systems
• Inspecting buildings or building designs to determine fire protection system requirements and potential problems in areas such as water supplies, exit locations, and construction materials
• Preparing and writing reports detailing specific fire prevention and protection issues, such as work performed, revised codes or standards, and proposed review schedules
• 10% domestic travel is required, visiting sites throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire
• Part-time local telecommuting from home is permitted

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
• 6 years of experience and PE license OR 10 years of experience without licensure working in an office and/or fieldwork with a proven track record in time management, technical competence, budget control, and client relations.
• Must have experience in designing fire detection equipment, alarm systems, and fire extinguishing devices and systems
