Mixes and serves non-alcoholic beverages to patrons/members and provides responsible, friendly service to restaurant and bar customers and members 

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Follow all polices for the responsible service of alcohol.
  2. Deliver drinks to guests such as beer, wine and mixed drinks. Deliver appetizers and meals to members.
  3. Organizes and stocks bar. Ensures that adequate supply levels are maintained
  4. Replenishes additional supplies as necessary.
  5. Takes orders from members or servers.
  6. Follows set-up procedures.
  7. Prepares garnishes as required
  8. Replenishes bar snacks (i.e. chips, pretzels and nuts) as required.
  9. Greet members
  10. Mixes, prepares and serves drinks according to the recipes approved by the F & B manager and as requested by the member or guest.
  11. Collects checks/payment for drinks and food served.At the Westmoor this means confirming who the member is and closing the tab to them.Our accounting department bills at a later date so this is an extremely important step to ensure no billing mistakes on our end.
  12. Reports complaints to a manager as soon as they occur.
  13. Maintains and cleans the bar, equipment, bottles, shelves, rail, fruit trays, coolers on a daily bases.
  14. Maintains records of liquors, beers, wine and sundries to ensure par stock is maintained at all times.
  15. Maintains daily inventory and records showing which drinks and liquors are in the greatest demand.
  16. Cleans and lock-ups bar according to prescribed procedures.
  17. Other duties may be assigned

OUTCOME

Through his/her skills and personality, the bartender will not only ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the members, but also play a major role in liquor cost control.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; three to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in English to customers, members, or employees of organization.

MATHAMETICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to apply common sense to unexpected situations.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock, burns from hot equipment and lacerations from sharp objects. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The pace is generally moderate and may be fast.

Employees are required to perform all tasks as safely as possible and to adhere to applicable safety procedures.

INTERACTION:

Daily interaction with managers, supervisors, service, kitchen personnel, and customers. Periodic interaction and other departmental personnel.

SCHEDULING:

This company is open seasonally for a minimum 3 months; we operate seven days a week. Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determines the amount of hours that you work.

Standard Club Requirements

Employees are expected to present a clean and neat appearance while on the job. Clothing is to be kept clean and pressed. Personal cleanliness is expected, including wearing deodorant, bathing and oral hygiene. Excessive make-up and jewelry is not permitted. Employees are expected to arrive to work on time and leave personal belongings at home or in a locker. Employees should conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with members, management and other staff.

Work Hours:

Full and Part time employees must work all scheduled shifts. We have a short three month season at the Westmoor Club and need every employee to be here 100% of the time that they were hired for. Requested days off will try to be honored by management but never guaranteed. If there is a scheduling need within the club, that takes priority. This includes Holiday’s, Mornings, Afternoons, Nights and Weekends. If an employee is sick they are expected to get their shift covered and speak directly to a manager for approval. All employee shift changes must be put in writing on a (shift change request form) and approved by a manager. We do understand that people get sick and things come up so please be flexible and helpful to other employees that may need a shift covered.
