Job Description: Part-time Financial Secretary Assistant

Overview: Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) is seeking a detailed oriented and organized individual to join our team as a part-time financial secretary assistant. In this role, the team member will provide essential support to our financial operations - ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Structure: The Part-time Financial Secretary Assistant will report to the Treasurer and WPC Elder assigned to the Administration/Personnel Team.

1. The role is a “remote/home office” position.

2. A computer and printer will be provided, to be returned to WPC at the end of employment, or if the equipment must be replaced or upgraded.

3. A typical work week will be a minimum of ten hours per week, with availability to work additional time as needed in the event the Financial Secretary is absent, or to assist with additional workload or conflicting deadlines.

Qualifications:

1. Applicants for this position must have a good understanding of best accounting practices in a non-profit environment (however, for-profit experience will be considered), with high attention to detail and levels of accuracy.

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

3. A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.

4. Ability to learn new computer applications as needed. (Current software systems include REALM for all accounting functions. WPC also utilizes ACS Headmaster for Early Learning Program invoices, statements, reports, and online payments.)

5. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

6. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

7. Successfully pass a Background Screening

General Expectations:

1. Train and work with Financial Secretary for all duties associated with this position including Contributions, Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, Monthly Financial Reporting, Quarterly and Year End Tax reporting, Employee Records, Insurance for Life, Disability or Voluntary plans. May require working with vendors, staff, WPC leadership or WPC members as needed.

2. Manage ELP Financials including customer billing, contact with ELP Director for payment and billing issues, apply and process all payments (check deposits and online), produce aging reports for ELP Director and leadership, assist ELP Director to maintain family and student information in Headmaster, or update for changes in enrollment. May also require working with ELP parents, Headmaster Support or VANCO payment processor as needed.

3. Adhere to established WPC policies and procedures.

4. Perform other duties related to the role as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
