JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurse in accordance with state and federal standards. This supervision may be required by the DON to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities. Role / Responsibility Supervisor - Evenings/ Night Daily Duties
- Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the evening shift
- Meet with each Med nurse to review evening case load and special responsibilities
- Huddle with CNA team on each floor to discuss case load and any special responsibilities for their shift
- Oversee care of all residents and intervene/support staff appropriately
- Review CNA assignment with CNA team including:
o Coverage on each floor
o Monitor compliance with job responsibilities
o Ensure documentation is completed before CNAs leave at 11pm o Manage any disciplinary issues that come up on evenings
- Review all new admissions from Days to ensure admission check list is completed
- Review completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for evening team
- Med Dispense
o Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
o Complete audit to ensure med dispense has been properly used for the past shift
o Ensure that new admissions have been entered into the med dispense
o Complete documentation for all Incidents including witness statements

Verify that all evening staff arrive, and they are aware of their assignments.

- Review completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents
- Complete Redlining (you can ask the other nurse to assist if appropriate)
- Med Dispense o Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
o Complete audit to ensure med dispense has been properly used for the past 24 hours o Ensure that new admissions have been entered into the med dispense
o Complete tracking log for all infections that have been newly diagnosed.

. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of year as a supervisor is required. Must be CPR Certified. Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long-term care desirable. Med-surg, Home Health, Emergency Room experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped
