The Department of Computing and Digital Technology at Westminster College is seeking applications for a fulltime tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to start August 15, 2024. We are seeking a broadly trained and educated individual who has demonstrated passion about teaching computing at every level of the curriculum in a primarily residential, undergraduate, liberal arts institution.
The successful candidate will teach lower- and upper-level courses across the disciplines of digital communications, web design and development, and digital media. Ability to also teach courses in computer systems analysis and cybersecurity would be preferred. We are especially interested in applicants whose research interests and pedagogy will connect and integrate computing and digital technology with other academic disciplines, and who have the potential to collaboratively contribute to interdisciplinary curricular and scholarly efforts within the department as well as across the entire College. In addition, the faculty member will participate in academic advising, new course development, and other departmental functions.
The candidate’s background and experience should demonstrate technical competence and teaching experience in digital communications, web design and development, and digital media. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning through hands-on and active learning strategies. Applicants having an earned Doctorate (or ABD) or a Master’s degree with industry experience will be considered.

Education: An earned Doctorate (or ABD) or a Master’s degree in this or a related discipline (digital communications, web design, web development, and/or digital media). OR an earned Doctorate (or ABD) or Master’s degree in a different discipline with either an earned 18 hours of graduate coursework in this or related discipline OR at least five years of professional experience in industry or college teaching.
