Job Title: Training Specialist I
Classification: Non-Exempt
On-site / Corporate Office: Hybrid -WFH/Corporate
Direct Supervisor: Learning and Development Manager

Position Brief:
Assess training and development needs, develop training programs to meet specific needs to maintain or improve job skills. Create and/or update training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials. Conduct live training sessions based on business needs. Maintain records of training and development activities. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development. Partner with business owners to support department goals and objectives. Performs administrative activities related to the training function.
Essential Basic Skills and Requirement:
Experience:
  • 1 years experience in onsite Property / Leasing management preferred

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods preferred
  • Experience conducting classroom or small group instruction to adult audiences
  • 1 year conducting basic data analysis
  • Intermediate Entrata (or other similar property management programs) experience required
  • Computer literate, Microsoft, Office, Excel, Google, and other operational programs

Education:
  • Professional certificates in training, instructional design, adult education, or related field, or equivalent training and experience preferred

  • Real Estate Certificate - preferred
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to read and interpret policies and guidelines to make sound decisions
  • Ability to make appropriate recommendations within scope of responsibility

Additional Requirements:
Training Specialists must be able to perform the physical functions of this position, which may include, but are not limited to: ability to walk property, including stairs, to complete physical inspections, and perform onsite training. Ability to stand for multiple hours a day for training in a classroom setting. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to approximately 20 - 30 pounds.
Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Will need to use personal transportation to evaluate trainees or to retrain on-site, inspect apartment communities and surrounding neighborhoods, make trips to the properties and visit the regional office for managers’ meetings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides classroom instruction, small group instruction, and hands-on, individualized instruction as required, for subject areas as assigned, using instructional strategies and materials developed by others

  • Plan and coordinate training events including scheduling, logistics, notifications and materials preparation
  • Administers assessments, track scores and provide remediation as necessary based on results
  • Conduct evaluations of new and existing training programs and assists with follow-up analysis of training results
  • Perform basic analysis of training and project data to identify trends and guide decision making
  • Assists in identifying, evaluating, and recommending new course materials, software development tools, and graphics tools and resources as necessary to stay current with industry trends
  • Establish and maintain solid working rapport with business unit leaders
  • Stay current on industry and company standards
  • Assists in ensuring currency of training materials to include revising course analysis documents, lesson plans, tests, and training effectiveness tools
  • Maintains training calendars of scheduled training
  • Ensures training records are maintained per company training and records processes

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
