Westlake Eye Specialists is Hiring a Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator Near Austin, TX

SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator deals directly with the public, existing and potential referral services to provide educational, public relations and marketing programs to promote the practice to enhance visibility and branding for the company and its related entities. The Marketing Coordinator must have a complete understanding of social media, internal and external marketing programs that will improve market share for the practice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field
  • One year of marketing, sales, public relations experience preferred
  • Experience in marketing and/or public relations in a medical setting preferred

  • Must have proficient computer skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have outstanding public speaking/presentation skills
  • Must be able to problem solve
  • Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar and writing capability
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Must be self-directed, highly motivated, able to multi-task, work under pressure in a fast- paced environment
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time accurately and efficiently
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Must possess a caring, patient and friendly attitude
  • Must have a working knowledge of all ophthalmic terminology which includes spelling and pronunciation
  • Must have a basic knowledge of equipment used for diagnostic testing within the clinic
  • Must be detailed oriented and self-directed
  • Must have a complete understanding of the use of social media to improve visibility for the practice

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, develops and implements a yearly public relations/marketing program to retain existing and enhance new referral sources in order to grow market share and promote branding of the Westlake Eye Specialists name.
  • Meets yearly sales goals as identified by the Owner and CEO of the practice.
  • Networks with new and existing referral sources, independent living facilities, local businesses and organizations to promote Westlake Eye Specialists product lines and services.
  • Host vision screenings, community and professional staff lectures, CE events, golf tournaments, etc. as needed to promote the practice.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the understanding of eye diseases and must be able to communicate in ways that is easy for the public to understand.
  • Works in conjunction with the Administrator to plan, develop and implement various marketing techniques with the guidance and assistance of various outside marketing partners to improve our “brand recognition” within the community.
  • Effectively utilizes social media platforms to promote the practice.
  • Must be able to work outside regular office hours to accommodate various public relations/marketing events.
  • Ensures duties are completed in a timely manner and that all CMR software is maintained according to practice protocols.
  • Corresponds with follow up letters to all referral sources, etc. in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintains appropriate productivity as defined by the Administrator of the practice.
  • Professional and Personal Development/Goals and Objectives
  • Exhibits professional demeanor with a positive enthusiastic attitude at all times when representing the practice
  • Maintains certification, where applicable, and continues to improve skills. Must attend all in-services and webinar training seminars as directed by the Administrator
  • Sets goals and objectives for professional growth. Reviews and revises goals on an ongoing basis
  • Provides input on how to improve customer service, decrease costs and increase revenues for the practice

  • Supports the practice core values and mission statement to develop, enhance and promote quality customer service through team effort
  • Exhibits flexibility, sensitivity and respect while maintaining an effective working relationship with all team members
  • Maintains practice confidentiality, follows HIPAA guidelines and follows the rules and regulations of the practice as documented in the employee handbook
  • Assumes other duties as assigned

  • The majority of the time on-the-job is spent walking, sitting, using hands to hold items and move items, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, stooping, crouching and bending
  • At times the job may require weight to be lifted up to 40 pounds
  • The job requires the following types of vision: close, distance, peripheral and depth
  • Typical noise level for the work environment of this job is moderate to high (i.e. business office with computers and printers, heavy traffic)
  • Work in an office environment and sustain posture in a seated position for moderate periods of time
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
  • Must be able to use a computer monitor, operate a keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
