Job Description

Directs and coordinates activities of overall resort to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
DUTIES

• Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals.
• Coordinates activities of departments in all aspects of operations including front desk, engineering, housekeeping, warehouse/purchasing, SPA, sales, to effect operational efficiency and economy.
• Directs and coordinates services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
• Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget. Manages all sources of revenue to include rooms, food and beverage, telephone and others. Ensures all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.
• Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required. Responds quickly to changing market conditions and revises strategies accordingly.
• Actively participates in sales discussions, meetings and plans.
• Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.
• Promotes CFI/Westgate Resorts philosophies throughout the hotel to both team members and guests.
• Manages team member relation functions of the resort by controlling turnover, motivating team members, focusing on team member development and retention and conducting regular team member meetings.
• Protects the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
• Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage and Hour and Health laws.
• Promotes organization in industry or trade associations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Food and Beverage Director, Housekeeping Director, Resort Operations Manager, SPA Manager, Chief Engineer, Team Member Services Director.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four-year college degree is preferred, but not required and/or equivalent work experience. Must have at least 5 years work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be fluent in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Time will be spent creating financial reports and interpreting and analyzing business records/statistical reports. Mathematical skills are needed and include basic math, problem solving, reasoning, negotiating, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, variances and percentages are often used.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Alcohol awareness certification. CAM certification required
