Job Description

Responsible to assist in overseeing the cabinet shop making, building, repairing and installation for all buildings, OPC areas and corporate assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the implementation of programs provided by the Cabinet Shop Assistant Director regarding the building and installation of cabinets of corporate buildings, OPC buildings and corporate assets.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be
• Builds, repairs, installs cabinets and cabinet doors.
• Repair any broken or damaged cabinets, drawers or doors.
• Prepares layout, marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
• Shape's materials to prescribed measurements using hand and power tools.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Installs completed cabinets as required.
• Must produce work that meets industry standards and specifications.
• Follows industry and company safety procedures and
• Performs activities of Cabinet Maker Rough and/or Finish supervised as needed.
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends when a project dictates a need.
• Must possess unique skills which foster cooperative working relationships, which promotes a positive image of the department to outside personnel.
• Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
• Must represent CFI in a professional manner through appearance, dress and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Team Member’s Handbook.
• Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute their role to its full potential.
• Other duties as assigned by Corporate Facilities leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises team members in the Cabinet Shop Department. Is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of team members in assigned areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Three-to-five-year certificate from college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Abilities 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to extreme heat, cold and vibration. The team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk or electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
