Applications will be accepted for a Speech and Language Assistant in the Westfield Public School District for the 2024 Special Education Extended Year Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 1, 2024 and continue for four weeks, Monday – Thursday (no Friday dates) ending on July 25, 2024.
Training Date:
July 1, 2024 (all staff) 8:30 am – 3:00 pm with ½ hour unpaid lunch

Fort Meadow: 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Transition Program: 7:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Monday – Thursday
Westfield Middle School: 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m Monday – Thursday
Student Hours:
Fort Meadow: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Transition Program: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday – Thursday
Westfield Middle School: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m Monday – Thursday
No School on Fridays
Starting Date: July 1, 2024
Ending Date: July 25, 2024
FUNDING:
Rate of Pay: $21.75 per hour with no benefits, not to exceed a total of 79 hours
Preference will be given to candidates possessing previous Westfield Public School Summer Program experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in providing therapy to small and large groups of children.
2. Assist in planning therapy activities and im making/coordinating materials.
3. Assist in keeping records.
4. assist speech pathologist during assignments.
5. Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

This position subject to funding.
REPORTS TO:
Special Education Supervisor and Building Principal.
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
