Westfield Public Schools is Hiring a SPECIAL EDUCATION EXTENDED YEAR SUMMER PROGRAM 2024 - BCBA Near Westfield, MA

Applications will be accepted for a BCBA in the Westfield Public School District for the 2024 Special Education Extended Year Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 1, 2024 and continue for four weeks, Monday – Thursday (no Friday dates) ending on July 25, 2024.
Training Date:
July 1, 2024 (all staff) 8:30 am – 3:00 pm with ½ hour unpaid lunch
Employee Hours:
Fort Meadow: 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Transition Program: 7:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Monday – Thursday
Westfield Middle School: 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m Monday – Thursday
Student Hours:
Fort Meadow: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Transition Program: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday – Thursday
Westfield Middle School: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m Monday – Thursday
No School on Fridays
Starting Date: July 1, 2024
Ending Date: July 25, 2024
Preference will be given to candidates possessing previous Westfield Public School Summer Program experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the diagnostic, preventative and interventive purposes in the school setting.
  2. Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments. Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom setting.
  3. Provide program/individual staff consultation on design/implementation of BIPs.
  4. Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of Discrete Trials curriculum.
  5. Schedule and document provision of services to students, as outlined on IEPs Maintain daily intervention notes. Provide guidance for and indirect monitoring of staff entries in daily intervention notes.
  6. Knowledge of best practices and laws governing students with disabilities; skill in communicating assessment results both orally and in writing; interpersonal communication, consultation, and skills necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
  7. Provide support and training in the area of behavioral intervention.
  8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee
This position subject to funding.
REPORTS TO:
Special Education Supervisor and Building Principal.
FUNDING:
Rate of Pay: $42.50 per hour with no benefits, not to exceed a total of 79 hour
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
