Job Duties

Western State Hospital is looking for a full time housekeeping worker to provide a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Western State Hospital and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA). We are looking for 2nd shift coverage, which is 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. with rotating weekends.

This position is eligible for Shift differential of :
- $1.21hr for 2nd shift Weekday
- $1.54/hr for 3rd shift Weekday
- $1.10hr for First shift Weekend/First Shift Weekday Holiday
- $1/94/hr Second Shift Weekend/Second Shift Weekday Holiday
- $2.37/hr Third Shift Weekend/Third Shift Weekday Holiday

The Housekeeping worker's responsibilities are to perform floor care as trained; sweep or dust, mop, strip, apply finish, and buff floors; clean bathroom and shower rooms as trained; clean walls, floors, ceilings, commodes, urinals, sinks, showers, tubs, lights, floors, and any fixtures in the room; clean bed areas as trained; clean dayrooms, offices, visitor's rooms, halls and other public areas as trained; clean outdoor areas as well; pick up trash; empty trash; and clean doors, windows, and any other items.

Minimum Qualifications

- general knowledge in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishing, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
- general skills in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishing, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
- ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, lift heavy objects, prolong standing, walking on various surfaces, climb ladders, work on knees, and work in various conditions

Additional Considerations

- high school graduate or equivalent
- experience in housekeeping
- valid Operator's License
- bilingual
- veteran
