Occupational Health Advanced Practice Provider
REPORTS TO: Primary Care Service Line Director
DEPARTMENT: Western Missouri Medical Center Practices
JOB SUMMARY
The advanced practice provider helps with all aspects of patient care including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Performs the vital task of patient education about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct physicals, order tests, reviews results, and makes referrals
Communicate with patient, employer, and work comp carrier
Keep wait times short
Prescribe medications, if licensed to do so
Review forms, notes, guidelines and policies
Write return to work, release to work notes according to guidelines/policies
Work well with collaborating physician
Document appropriately and timely
Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Perform other essential duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Currently licensed to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri and as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Missouri or currently licensed as a physician’s assistant in the state of Missouri
Current BLS required
Preferred DOT physical certified, or ability to certify within 6 months
Preferred flight physical certification, or ability to certify within 6 months
Preferred occupational medicine experience
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic
