Western Kentucky University seeks an individual to serve as the program manager for promoting excellence and belonging in educator recruitment and licensure. This program manager serves, along with other team members, in the Office of Professional Educator Services.

Responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Oversee student recruitment activities
  • Actively work with public schools, state entities, and community organizations
  • Engage high school and middle school students through teacher recruitment presentations
  • Oversee student retention initiatives
  • Coordinate scholarship opportunities, including TEACH grant funding
  • Collaborate with the School of Teacher Education dual credit faculty coordinator
  • Provide academic advising for students, as appropriate, within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences
  • Collaborate with the Intercultural Student Engagement Center and other university student support programs
  • Direct the Young Male Leadership Academy
  • Serve as liaison for the regional high school Educator Rising chapters
  • Secure external funding for support programs, as appropriate
  • Represent the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging recruitment and retention efforts on college and university committees, including the college DEI committee

Knowledge and skills considered essential for success:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication
  • Ability to actively engage participants in recruitment presentations
  • Ability to work, both, independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrate excellence in professional presentations

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, Student Services, or a related field
  • Experience working in K-12 schools
  • Experience with public presentations
  • Ability to travel and be available to work some nights and weekends
Additional Information:


Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000
