The Western Dairyland Head Start program is hiring a part-time Teacher Assistant to work at our Truax Head Start Center located at 623 Truax Boulevard, Eau Claire.
Head Start promotes school readiness for children under the age of five from income-eligible families by supporting their growth and development in a positive learning environment through comprehensive services, which include early learning, health, and family well-being. We're a mission-driven organization making a positive impact in our community since 1966.
Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and be willing to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within two years of employment. The ideal candidate has demonstrated abilities to work with young children, many of whom are living in poverty.
This is a part-time position working 34 hours per week, Monday through Thursday during the school year. The starting wage is $14.50 to $16.00 per hour.

Employees can contribute immediately. After 1 year of employment, the agency will contribute between 3 and 6 percent, dependent on the employee's contribution.
