The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
We have openings in:
Float pool: Staff are scheduled and work in a variety of hospital departments across the NWWI region.
Inpatient Behavioral Health: Inpatient Unit dedicated to patients with behavioral health needs.
Intensive Care Unit/Progressive Unit: 20 Intensive Care and 6 Progressive Care beds that care for Cardiology/CV Surgery, Neurology/Neurosurgical, Dialysis, Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD), Septic Shock, Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Repairs, and Level II Trauma.
Medical Surgical: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for a diverse patient population including general medical, general surgery, orthopedics, oncology, and urology.
Medical Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, and interventional cardiac care.
Neuro/Peds/Trauma: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, traumas, neurological and neurosurgical, and pediatrics.
Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
License or certification:
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
