Fastener Sales Representative: Big Sky Fastener Supply
Position Description:
Big Sky Fastener Supply located in picturesque Kalispell, MT is looking for an experienced & ambitious Fastener Sales Representative to join our team. This individual will be responsible for sales within the retail store inside and out, and developing new approaches to attracting new customers. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for expanding our customer base, fostering relationships, and driving revenue growth in the faster supply industry.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan, develop and oversee the overall business development strategy
Identify and target potential customers within the assigned territory, including construction companies, manufacturers, and contractors
Research market trends and customer needs to tailor sales pitches and offerings
Work with the sales and warehouse team
Build strong relationships with industry professionals, competitors, vendors, and other personnel
Regularly visit customers on-site to understand their operations, address concerns, and recommend appropriate products
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering technical expertise and guidance on fastener solutions
Work to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth
Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively managing the sales pipeline and closing deals
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction
Work collaboratively with internal teams to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve any customer issues promptly
Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the organization
Support team members
Set up meetings with new and existing clients
Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion
Present new products and services to enhance existing relationships
Develop a thorough understanding of Big Sky Fastener Supply’s product offerings, including fasteners, tools, and accessories.
Stay up-to-date on product updates, industry standards, and best practices through training sessions and self-study
Place incoming orders from customers with the sales team
Key Position Skills & Requirements:
Knowledge of the fastener industry
Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably in the fastener or industrial supply industry
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers
Good time management and organizational skills
Creative thinking for attracting new customers and new opportunities
Knowledge of fasteners, industrial tools, or construction materials is advantageous
Familiar with shipping and receiving procedures
Proficient with different computer operating systems
Minimum of 3 years of experience in outside sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth
Critical thinker and problem solver
Networking, prospecting, and sales planning
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
Must be able to meet all of our auto insurance requirements
