SUMMARY
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for all mechanical, visual and dimensional inspections of parts being received to facility. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all inventory control specifications and quality are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.

1. Utilizes various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications.
2. Performs mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools.
3. Communicates with buyers on quality issues.
4. Attaches correct labeling to outside of cartons/pallets. Stores products in warehouse and performs transactions to adjust inventory on the system.
5. Works from blueprints for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.
6. Material request verification and validation – ensures that materials are captured correctly, and work orders are modified to capture changes.
7. Ensures revision parts are delivered to the correct teams and any parts removed via revision are reclaimed to inventory.
8. Responsible for part location and quantity validation.
9. Performs cycle counts consistently, and variances are tracked and verified to maintain correct QOH.
10. Performs location audits and consolidation.
11. Responsible for any additional tasks identified by Warehouse Manager or Quality Manager.
12. Other duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with inventory-related procedures and system transactions. Previous Receiving Inspector experience preferred.
3. Knowlege of Material Test Reports (MTRs) and materials required.
4. General math, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
6. Proficient in creating and using Excel spreadsheets to support position activities required.
7. Strong organizational and follow-up skills required.
8. Detailed knowledge of product lines and production processes associated with each required.
9. Ability to perform daily clerical tasks associated with reviewing production, receiving, and shipping data for accuracy.
10. Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs, required. ERP system (Epicor) experience preferred.
11. Must understand and follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.
12. Willingness to partake in additional schooling upon request.
