We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (2 to 4 years, Kindergarten) to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young children. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the development of children during their formative years. About the School 

Established in 1948 in Mamaroneck, NY, Westchester Day School, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational, dual curriculum Jewish elementary school (2-year-olds through 8th grade), prepares students to live as mensches and lifelong learners and inspires them to impact the world around them by cultivating a commitment to Torah, midot, community and academic rigor. 

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

• Maintain a well-organized and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.

• Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering positive relationships with children.

• Recognize and accommodate the diverse needs and learning styles of each child in the classroom. Provide individualized attention and support to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

• Establish and maintain open and collaborative communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Conduct parent-teacher conferences.

• Conduct ongoing assessment of children's development and progress. Keep detailed records of observations, assessments, and anecdotal notes to inform instructional planning and report to parents.

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom. Adhere to all licensing regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary learning environment.

• Stay current with best practices and trends in early childhood education. Participate in professional development opportunities and seek continuous growth and improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).

• Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education methodologies.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Salary range for this role is $45,000-$60,000, depending upon education and experience.
