Job Description

The minimum base salary is $50,000, and the maximum base salary is $60,000, plus an annual bonus. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge and experience.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in accounting rules and practices. The Project Accountant will work individually and with our accounting team, support staff, project managers, scientists and biometricians.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare client invoices in accordance with contract requirements, including pre-billing drafts for project managers to review.
  • Research and handle inquiries from internal and external clients in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and perform quality control activities.
  • Create and present training resources to new and existing members of project teams.
  • Participate in regular meetings to communicate status and relevant project updates.
  • Contribute towards improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain process documentation.
  • Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned/needed.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software programs, preferably Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
  • Fully functional with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • General knowledge of financial and accounting business practices.
  • Excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, detail-oriented, and possess good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with various types of office equipment including, but not limited to: laptop computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, printer/copier, scanner, headset.
  • Continual sitting, ability to be mobile, keyboarding, talking/hearing in person/on phone, and vision for close work.

After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre- employment background check, drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required.
