Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be:

• Self-driven and motivated who can work well independently as well as in team environments.
• The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, as well as experience with handling data.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Enter biological data in to MS SQL, MS Excel, Arc-GIS/QGIS, or others as needed.
• Various filing, scanning, and archiving of datasheets.
• Work cooperatively with, and under direction of, the Tracking and Data team personnel, as well as with the Bismarck Office Staff, including Field and Project Coordinators.
• Other duties as appropriate and assigned.
• As experience grows, and based on interest:
  • Participate in more complex data entry,
  • Learn data quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) procedures, including application of QGIS for spatial data QAQC.

Requirements:

• High school degree; college coursework preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Proficiency working with multiple screens.
• Strong interest in working with natural resource data and databases.
• Capable of appearing for work on time as scheduled.
• Able to understand and follow instructions, yet have initiative and confidence to ask questions, accept guidance and constructive criticism.
• Willingness to use Google chats and Google calendar.
• Ability to learn and adapt to WEST’s data entry procedures and to apply WEST’s QAQC protocols for handling and managing data.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, maintain a positive attitude.
• Have a highly developed ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to think critically to solve problems.
