John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center is a state run Health Care facility in Fairmont WV.
** This position qualifies for an appointment incentive of $12,500, to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months**
General Description
Under limited supervision this position, manages the development, implementation, monitoring and revision of the facility infection control program and employee health program to provide a safe and sanitary environment as well as prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection in all patient care and services areas. Conduct on-going surveillance using Center for Disease Control (CDC) infection criteria for investigation of nosocomial and community acquired infection risks to patients, staff, volunteers, students, visitors, and families as warranted. Maintains an employee health program to incorporate an immunization program against influenza for staff, routine communicable disease screening as permitted by facility policies, monitoring of outbreaks of employee illness, and post-exposure evaluations. Ensures that infection control program meets all regulatory compliance standards. Limited call duties are shared with other RNs. This position also acts as a back up to the LTC unit RN. Attend and participate in all QAPI meetings with department heads. Attend and participate in Care Conferences. Orients, trains, and assists new staff members as needed. Performs related duties as required.
This is a tobacco free facility. Chosen applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in Agency and Bureau policies. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Candidate must successfully pass a background screening.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: None
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in nursing.
Licensure/Certification: Current West Virginia license to practice as a registered nurse.
