Grades 1-3 Salary based on experience and position per the attached salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. *PLEASE REFER TO ATTACHED "ECCAT AUTHORIZATIONS FOR GRADES 1-3" FOR COURSEWORK GUIDE*
Candidate must meet the following criteria:
Must pass the Service Personnel Competency Test for "Aide", and
Must have ECCAT II Authorization AND take additional coursework noted below
Alternatively, candidate must apply for ECCAT Authorization and a. possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Apprenticeship in Child Development Specialist (ACDS) certification (PLUS take the additional coursework noted below), OR b. must have completed or enroll in the WVDE Canvas Learning Management System Classes that include the following:
2024-2025 ECCAT Courses:
ECCAT Numeracy (new 2023-24 ECCAT PreK-3 course)
ECCAT Literacy (new 2023-24 ECCAT PreK-3 course)
2025-2026 ECCAT Courses:
ECCAT Numeracy (new 2023-24 ECCAT PreK-3 course)
ECCAT Literacy (new 2023-24 ECCAT PreK-3 course)
ECCAT Special Needs PreK-3
ECCAT Child Development PreK-3
*To complete ECCAT course assignments, there is a requirement that all ECCAT course participants must be in the same 1st grade, 2nd grade, or 3rd grade classrooms for a minimum of five hours per week for each of the 14 weeks that the ECCAT course is in session.
Candidate must also demonstrate the following:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Behavior management / de-escalation strategies
Understanding of student development levels as they relate to learning
