West Tree Services is Hiring a Ground Operation Specialist Near Jonesboro, AR

Founded in 1945, by A. D. West and M. E. Erickson, West Tree Service has consistently provided utilities with reliable and professional Right of Way (ROW) maintenance services. West Tree Service is a contractor that provides vegetation management services to utilities. The utilities include Investor-Owned Utilities (IOU) (like Entergy and OG&E), Cooperatives, Municipalities, and gas pipeline companies. These services include tree trimming and removal, herbicide application, and mowing to provide utilities with a clear and manageable Right of Way. A clear Right of Way allows utilities to provide reliable and uninterrupted services to their customers. The majority of our management team and supervisors are certified by ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) which promotes the professional practice of arboriculture.

Job Responsibilities:

Enforce safety rules and take active part in the company safety program
Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner
Cut logs with chain saws
Feed limbs and brush into the tree chipper machine
Load trunk and log pieces into trucks
Rig and lower limbs to the ground
Drive a medium duty truck

Position Requirements:

Must be able to leave town for extended periods of time
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Must be able to leave town for extended periods of time on short notice (generally weather driven)
Must be able to work 10-hour days and a minimum of 40 hours per week (storm-related jobs may require up to 16 hours per day)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 70 pounds to shoulder height
Flexibility, including the ability to squat and bend
Ability to stand and or/walk for extended periods of time
Ability to work in all weather conditions and to with stand extreme temperatures

Rate of Pay:

Hourly Pay Rate of $15.00 an hour. Paid Weekly

Rate of pay is dependent upon experience.
