Description
- Knowledge on some (but not all) of the following required: Waukesha, Caterpillar, Turbines, Ariel, & IR packages.
- Preferred Experience with ULB Models would be a plus
- Service and provide preventive and corrective field mechanical service on Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles components and equipment to ensure proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to strict safety procedures and regulations.
- Field maintenance tasks including equipment troubleshooting, installation/removal, repair
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Inspecting equipment by checking bearing clearances, rotor conditions, valves, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshoot, and repair, and overhaul several types of compressors following manufacturer's instructions and/or company polices
- Communicate daily status/production reports
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical manuals
- Promote good housekeeping methods
- Visual inspection of pumps and motors to detect abnormal conditions
- Visually Inspection and repair of aerial coolers, Belts, and drives
- Decoupling and reinstallation of pumps if it is necessary
- Correction of Piping alignment with equipment if necessary
- Assistance in process system tests where mechanical equipment is involved
- Service, maintain, and test engine shutdown systems
- Troubleshoot Compressors and Natural Gas Engines and complete Field Repairs as needed
- Experience with CATS 3500 TALE/ULB, Waukesha 5794/7042, Ariel and Ingersoll-Rand packages is a plus
- Must have good knowledge of Engine Systems and Engine Controls (Cat ET, Waukesha ESM, Murphy, Altronic)
- Basic knowledge of gas compressor 2,3 Stage 4 throw Ariel, and Ingersoll-Rand
- Communicate daily status reports and documentation using company digital reports with support documents attached
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical manuals
- Strong Troubleshooting skills are a must
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- MUST be willing to work on call rotation schedule
- MUST have a Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- High School diploma and Trade School Courses
- Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to push/pull 100 pounds occasionally.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
- May require excessive travel, overtime, and weekend work
