Job Description: Program Aide/Bed Bug Specialist

Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator: The Program Aide will work as part of the team to monitor and support the well-being of the residents.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist residents as needed in activities of daily living, including personal care, room cleaning, laundry, shopping, and socialization.
  • Escort residents to medical, entitlement, and other appointments as directed. 
  • Assess for presence of bedbugs; and assist residents prepare for room-clean-outs and preparation for bed-bug treatments, including but not limited to packing up clothes and other items and doing laundry. While working on the bed bug prep, the Program Aide will, in conjunction with other staff, help the resident understand and cope with this intrusive process.
  • Shop for program supplies as directed. 
  • Assist residents in utilizing in-house programs--activity groups, floor meetings, outings, socials, etc. This includes outreach to residents and assisting with the set-up and clean-up of an activity.
  • Assist in the daily serving of lunch as needed. 
  • Work as a member of the team to establish and maintain high level of care and respect for the residents.
  • Complete documentation of services provided as required.
  • Work with other staff to insure good communication with tenants.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members.
  • Share information about tenant progress, needs, and problems with staff as appropriate.
  • Attend training sessions and conferences as required for enhancement of job skills.
  • Implement emergency procedures as necessary. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in working with special needs population
  • At least 18 years of age. 
  • Emotionally, mentally, and physically able to perform job responsibilities
  • Able to speak, read, and write English (as required by DSS regulation 487.9.13)
Monday through Friday 09:00 am to 05:00 pm
