West Des Moines Dental Center is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Des Moines, IA

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting dentists and hygienists in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking patient x-rays, and providing chairside assistance during dental procedures. Responsibilities: - Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures - Sterilize dental instruments and equipment following proper infection control protocols - Take and develop patient x-rays as directed by the dentist - Assist the dentist or hygienist during dental procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing other chairside support - Provide post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient - Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records in Dentrix or similar software - Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality - Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe dental environment - Assist with medical coding and billing processes as needed Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred - Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role is highly desirable - Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems - Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software - Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients and staff members - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail - Familiarity with medical documentation and recordkeeping practices - Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy - Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment We offer competitive compensation based on experience. Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
